Breastfeeding Support Group (Sunnyvale)
Breastfeeding is a natural process and mothers and babies don't always need professional help. However, if breastfeeding is not going well, the baby is not getting enough milk or breastfeeding is painful for the mother, then timely help can make all the difference for both. A lactation consultant provides assistance with hands-on instruction and reassurance to make this a positive
breastfeeding experience for both you and your baby.
A visit with a lactation consultant is beneficial if you:Are confused and frustrated
Don't know if your baby is taking enough milk
Find breastfeeding painful
Are overwhelmed
Are not enjoying breastfeeding
Every baby is different. Even mothers who have breastfed successfully in the past may need to learn different techniques for the new baby.
A free mother-to-mother breastfeeding support group is offered at the Sunnyvale Center, 201 Old San Francisco Road, basement conference room. Support groups are held every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Registration is not required, and the support group is open to PAMF patients (mothers and infants under three months old). For privacy reasons, we are unable to accommodate spouses and siblings.
