Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction - 8-Sessions (Palo Alto)
The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program (MBSR) is designed to help people learn how to effectively deal with physical and emotional stresses. It complements the medical treatments offered by more traditional health care services. The program provides training in breathing, mindfulness meditation, body scan with muscle relaxation, and gentle yoga stretching exercises.
MBSR has been shown to be effective in helping those with: work stress, family stress, anxiety, panic, headaches, TMJ, chronic pain, depression, and chronic diseases including heart disease, arthritis, gastrointestinal disorders, and moderate to severe psoriasis.
The MBSR program is offered quarterly. We offer a Monday night and Tuesday night series. The MBSR program consists of eight weekly 2 1/2-hour sessions and an all day retreat towards the end of the class series.
A free orientation to the program is offered prior to the start of the program. Please note that the MBSR 8-week series does fill up quickly. Registration for the 8 MBSR course is on a first come, first served basis. Attendance at the Orientation does not guarantee space will be available in the 8 week MBSR program.
