Childbirth Preparation-Weekend Sessions
This class is a full scope childbirth preparation class covering the anatomy and physiology of labor, relaxation techniques, pain medications available at the hospital, medical interventions and even what to expect after the baby is born. THERE IS A GUIDED TOUR OF THE FAMILY BIRTH UNIT INCORPORATED INTO THIS CLASS. Expectant women are encouraged to bring their partner and/or support person to class. The class is geared to helping moms and labor coaches gain confidence and understanding of the birth process and the hospital based care they will receive at Mills Peninsula Health Services Family Birth Center.
A lunch break is provided. The Atrium cafe is open. However, you are welcome to bring your own refreshments to enjoy throughout class should you have preferences for specific cuisines and snacks.
Register for this class at 4 month of pregnancy and take in the 7-8 month of pregnancy.
PLEASE NOTE 2015 CLASSES FROM JAN-MARCH HAVE BEEN POSTED. THE REMAINING CLASSES WILL BE POSTED AT A LATER DATE.
*** Please note all nursing students should contact the nursing education department 650-696-3556 to make arrangements to observe a class. Please do not register. There are some documents required.
