Question
i was sexually assaulted 5 yrs ago and recently i went for a smear test and couldnt go through with it. Secoundly this assault is worrying me and having sex isnt easy it took me a long time to trust my current boyfriend. i am a student nurse. im really worried about this matter what should i do?
Answer
Sexual assault is a very serious crime and should always be reported. It is not unusual that you are having problems with trusting your current boyfriend because of your history. Now that you are becoming a nurse you know the importance of good healthcare. You need to talk with your physician about the assault and see what kind of treatment you may need based on your doctor's recommendation. I think this discussion can serve to calm your fears and help you put this incident behind you.
