Question

My mum and dad won't let me get my navel pierced so can you please write about it now being dangerous so I can change there minds.

Answer

Sorry, we cannot overrule anyone's mum and dad. Getting your naval pierced does have risks of infection and there could be scarring. You and your parents have to talk about this taking into consideration your values, cultural beliefs, and desires. It is good practice for talking about lots of other decisions you will face while growing up. You are lucky to have parents who care and are willing to talk about these things.
