    Question

When me and my girlfriend are making out, she'll put my hand on her breast. Now this isn't the problem, but afterwards she doesn't seem to want to talk. Now I'm from a big family, where it's only quiet when you're in REALLY deep trouble, and so after I start to feel really guilty. What should I do?

    Answer

First of all, understand that when people are quiet it doesn't always mean they are upset or angry. It may be that your girlfriend is feeling very close to you and chooses not to talk because this feels right for her. When she feels more like talking, it would be good to have a conversation with her about why you feel so uncomfortable with silence based on your family history. Hopefully she can understand you better and reassure you so you do not feel guilty.
