    Question

Where can you find medical help when you have no insurance? Free medical help or low price. I visited my physician thinking I was just going to pay this 65.00 payment for a gyn. exam and turns out I received a 345.00 + bill in the mail for lab fees. What can I do? I can not afford to pay this.

    Answer

You can call the Public Health Department in your city and ask them if there is any help available. You can also call the doctor's billing person, explain the situation and ask to make payments until it is paid (to avoid them turning it over to a collection agency and ruining your credit history).

In the future, Planned Parenthood has sliding scale services, which are usually less expensive.
