Question

I am a 16 year old boy who is lean and fit. I play sports 4 times a week and go to the gym regularly. For the last 4 or 5 years i have had puffy nipples. It I squeeze them they look normal for a short while and then they go back to being puffy. Will this go away? It is really embarrassing.

Answer

Teenage boys often develop tenderness and swelling beneath the nipples. Sometimes a tender lump can develop. This can occur on one or both sides. It is a normal condition and requires no treatment. It may take several months to resolve. If you are unsure or are still concerned, please ask your personal physician to examine you.
