Question
Me and my mother have had a really close relationship all my life. She knows when I started having I guess you would say "sexual relations", but she doesn't know that I've had sex. How could I tell her without her getting mad or upset with me? I've tried thinking of different ways but I chicken out. PLEASE HELP! It's really bothering me!
Answer
It can not be an easy thing to do, but I think starting the conversation with the fact that you are bothered by not having talked to her about something really important, is a good place to start. Hopefully she will hear that you value the relationship and want to talk with her, and will be available to answer questions you have. You can also talk with your doctor. Do not be afraid. Adults can be very good resources.
