Question
I am 20 and have been engaged for 4 years. My fiance is age 22 and is overweight. I love her with all of my heart but I think that I feel more like friends. We have not had sex for about 6 months and we both agreed to not cheat on each other instead we would be open. So I don't know what I am feeling but I want to spend my life with her but I want another relationship at the same time. Is that not right? What should I do to help me with this problem?
Answer
It sounds like you are not really ready to make a full commitment to your fiance. Take your time and make sure that you understand your feelings. You can love someone very much and still not be ready to commit your life to her. Relationships can change a lot, especially when you are younger and have not had time to experience any other partners that can tell you about yourself and your needs. If you cannot resolve this conflict, it may be good to talk to a counselor to help you understand your feelings. It is important to make the right decision as you will have many years to be in a committed relationship.
