    Question

How do you get to be bi, gay, lesbian, ect.? Are you born with it or does it just appear over time? Is there a chemical balance in your brain?

    Answer

People are attracted to who they are attracted to, from birth. It is not a choice, and our sexual orientation is mostly accepted as something people are born with. Whether you are attracted to the same or opposite sex, or even both, is a part of every person.

It may take a person a long time to accept this part of him- or herself, especially if he or she comes from a community, religion, family or society that is biased against one or more types of sexual orientation.
