    Question

I have a pain in shaft of my penis when it becomes hard. It does not hurt when I urinate, and it is fine when flacid. Only hurts when I maintain an erection. I am 23 and this has been like this for three days. Should I be worried? When I "take care of buisness" it does not hurt once I climax. Never had this happen before. Is it just some strange thing that will go away?

    Answer

It may just go away, but if it persists for more than a week, it would be worth seeing an urologist. You may be describing the early stage of Peyronie's Disease, which is not a "disease" as such, but an inflammation in the lining of the internal erectile cylinders in the penis. This condition can lead to internal scarring and eventually to a curvature of the erect penis. The usual first line of treatment is vitamin E pills.
