    Question

Although my boyfriend and I have been sexually active for almost a year now, I still often get very uncomfortable and sore after we have had sex. Usually I have to pee really bad after and it burns, and a lot of the time the area around my vagina is red. we don't have really rough sex or anything. I do feel dry after having sex with a condom could that be the problem?

    Answer

First, make sure you are not using condoms that contain nonoxynol-9, which can irritate women, second, you can try adding a couple of drops of water-based lubricant to the outside of the condom to see if that helps, and third, try a polyurethane condom (in case you are sensitive to latex). After that, see a doctor.
