    Question

I am 16-years-old and I've notice that one of my nipples is bigger than the other, is this normal? I have family members who have gotten breast cancer and I'm freaking out.

    Answer

Nipple size is not a symptom of breast cancer and it is normal for them to be a little different from each other, and in fact breasts are not usually the exact same size either.

Breast cancer is detected using a mammogram when you are older, and feeling for lumps each month by doing a self-check. The next time you see your doctor, ask her to show you how to check your breasts for lumps.
