    Question

How can I tell my mom I want to go on birth control with her thinking something is up?

    Answer

Well, you are 18 and can get medical care without your mom knowing. You can make an appointment to see your doctor and talk with him or her about it. You can also go to a Planned Parenthood, or a university health center (if you are a student) without your mom knowing.

You are the only one who knows whether your mom needs to know or not. If the birth control is because you plan to be sexually active, then you can tell her and hope she is happy that you are being so responsible. My advice is always to be honest - you are becoming an adult and the relationship with your mom has got to change as you become responsible for your life and decisions.
