    Question

I am 16 years old and went to the beach over the weekend with some friends and one of their parents. (16 year old friends) My parents were away for the weekend. One of my friends drove to and from the beach but her parent didn't check with my parents to see if this was OK. Was this OK?

    Answer

Since you are asking if this is OK you are probably concerned about what your parents would say and you also may have felt uncomfortable with a teen driver. It would have been best if your parents could have had the opportunity to know it was a teen driver taking you to the beach even though his or her parent was in the car. You may not have known who would drive ahead of time and the driver's parent did not think it was necessary to inform the other parents. I suggest you bring this up with your parents and tell them you did not know what to do in this situation and see what they would suggest if it ever happens again.
