Question
I am a 16 year old guy and my right breast is swollen with red marks around it. It is also sore when touched. What could this be?
Answer
It is very common for young men to have breast tissue, as men have female hormones as well as male hormones. In early puberty, when there are so MANY hormones coursing through the veins, it is not unusual to have the female hormones stimulate some breast development. It will go away in approximately six months. However, it is not common to have red streaks around the nipple. If that is still there, you should check with your doctor to make sure you do not have an infection.
