Question
I have a kid due in early November and another due in February. I am scared. I don't know what to do. I can't sleep at night. I wake up in cold sweats. My school counslor says I need to focus on school and making money. I'm trying, but I'm still scared.
Answer
I think you need more support from someone who will listen to you and what your thoughts and feelings are. When we have many pressures it can be difficult to sort out the priorities and focus our thoughts, feelings and actions on what needs to happen one step at a time. Everything taken together can seem overwhelming, which in turn can lead to giving up, running away, drinking or other ways of checking out. Perhaps you could try to find someone you trust, a counselor, doctor, older friend or relative who can listen to you. They help you sort out your responsibilities, dreams and day-by-day tasks. Don't give up!
