    Question

I am five months pregnant. I just started seeing skin-color skin tag type things on my vagina. The first one was like a month ago and I pulled it off; it didn't hurt and it was very easy to remove. Then found two more recently. More inside the vagina area and I pulled them off too and they bleed a lot! I also have hard bumps in my vagina but I dont know if tht is normal or not. Plus I have been having weird dischange even before I was pregnant. It is kinda clumpy and flaky and itches a lot, expecialy after sex. It's been hard to see my doctor because I am out of town. I called and they said he would call back about it, but never did. What do you think it is?

    Answer

It is common to have skin changes during pregnancy, including enlargement of skin tags. I would not recommend removing them by yourself, as they tend to bleed more in pregnancy due to the increased vascularity. As for the abnormal discharge, you should have an exam with your OB/Gyn at your next visit to rule out an infection, such as possible yeast infection.
