    Question

    How much exercise does a teen need to stay healthy?

    Answer

    Good question. I would recommend at least 30 minutes per day for cardiovascular fitness. It is not an area that has been well studied and well-established guidelines for adolescents are not available. For weight loss and weight management it is a more complex recommendation which involves diet, exercise and a general decrease in sedentary time (for example, spending less time watching TV and using the computer).
