Question
How do I cope with being forced to have sex with someone who didn't want to? We were both very young and were scared. Someone else forced us to and threatened us, since I was 6 til I was 13. Will I have problems with having sex in the future because of all the sexual abuse I've endured?
Answer
Forcing a child (or anyone) to have sex against their will is a very serious crime of sexual abuse and it needs to be reported so this person will not do it again. I strongly encourage you to talk with your doctor or a trusted adult about how to get counseling help for yourself. It could certainly lead to sexual problems in the future if you don't get the opportunity to heal this wound. If you do not want to talk about it with someone you know, you can call your local Child Protective Agency and ask them what to do to get help. It is very good you are asking these questions and seeking help, which is the appropriate and healthy thing to do.
