    Question

I was raped about a week ago. I was too embarrassed to tell anyone or go to a doctor and this week I have noticed one small red bump in my pubic region near my vagina. It itches only slightly and is not painful. It almost looks like a pimple. Does this sound like an STD?

    Answer

I am so sorry about you being raped. That is very frightening. I hope you can call your local rape hotline and talk to someone about how you are feeling.

The very best thing for you to do for yourself, medically, would be to go see a doctor and be checked out. They will check to make sure you don't have any STD's and treat you if there are any. You need to know that you are OK physically. I hope that pimple-like thing is not an STD, but someone would have to look at it to tell.
