    Question

I have a patch of reddish-brownish skin above my vagina, under my pubic hair. The only reason I noticed was because I recently shaved most of my pubic hair off, revealing an odd patch of skin that does not itch or have a different texture than the surrounding skin. I've done some research, and think it could be something like tinea versicolor. Is it possible to get that near the genitals? What else could it be?

    Answer

Tinea versicolor is a good thought. I agree, it is a somewhat unusual location, but we often see unusual presentations of common conditions. The best way to get this diagnosed is to have it scraped and examined under a microscope by your dermatologist.
