    Question

I have been dating my boyfriend for two years now, and this has never happened before. The last two times we had sex, my left inner lip swells up. But only after sex, no other time. What could be the cause of this?

    Answer

Sometimes if there is not enough lubrication from foreplay there can be increased friction during intercourse. Due to the lack of lubrication, small abrasions and slight "swelling" may occur around introitus/labia. Using lubricants or lubricated condoms can help in this situation. If there is no improvement, make an appointment with your doctor to have an exam to rule out other causes.
