    Question

I was sexually assaulted, not raped and my boyfriend doesn't know. we both love each other and want to have sex, and I'm not sure if I should tell him about my situation, especially because I was assaulted almost 3 years ago.

    Answer

Well, it seems to me that if you love someone you would want them to know and love all of you - even the fact that you were sexually assaulted. If you are considering having sex then you will likely have to "deal" with some issues around the assault and a true love would be a supportive person to help you through. I vote for honesty - you will feel better without this secret and have more support.
