I suggest you try to lay in a comfortable position, close your eyes, and breathe slowly, in and out, trying hard to stop your mind. Some people say in their head "in" when breathing in, and "out" when breathing out, without any other thoughts.
Taking a yoga or meditation class will help you learn to quiet your mind and focus on your breath. Good luck.
