    Teen FAQ

For over 10 years, teens have been asking us questions on every topic imaginable. While we are no longer taking new questions, we have a wealth of information we would like to share with teenagers.

    Question

I imagine your doctor does what we do -- when a Pap is normal we don't check for HPV. So, your first abnormal Pap had a HPV test done and then your last test also had a HPV test done. The 3 in the middle didn't have HPV testing as the Pap themselves were normal.

So you did get HPV at some point. You will most likely have it forever. All that means is that you need to come in every year for a Pap. At this point we don't know of anyway to "get rid" of HPV.
