Question
I had an abortion about six weeks ago and when I went for my two week check up I had an infection. The doctor gave me antibiotics and said that it would go away. Now I am having a brownish discharge and am not sure if I should be concerned that the infection is still there. Could the brownish discharge mean that it is still there and I need more antibiotics
Answer
Yes you could have an infection again.
This may also be your normal period just starting. If you have had sex since the abortion, or if you are having discomfort in your abdomen, fevers, body aches or you just feel tired you should go back to your doctor.
If you are feeling totally fine you could wait a day or two and see if your real period starts, if it doesn't then you will want to be checked out as well.
