    Question

When you have choice to harm yourself by Piercing the Head of your penis, and how long should it take to heal normally? and what are some cleaning agents you would use? Is there anything specific you have to watch for? Scar tissue?

    Answer

As with all piercings, it is important to have it done at a licensed piercing studio with instruments that have been autoclaved and by an experienced piercer. How it is done requires a decision about whether to avoid the nerve bundle that runs along the center of the frenulum and where depends on whether or not the male is circumcised. This is not something to be done yourself. After care includes changing the dressing frequently while it is still bleeding, which may be up to 48 hours, no touching for 14 days except to clean it with a sea salt solution (8 ounces of water and 1/4 tsp sea salt)several times a day, no oral contact, no sexual contact for at least one week, condoms should be worn for the entire healing process which varies from 2 - 9 months, using high quality jewelry and not changing it for three months.
