    Question

My 13 year old daughter told us she has strong feelings for another girl at school. She is confused about her sexual orientation and thinks she might be bisexual. We want to help and support her. My heart is breaking for the turmoil she is suffering. What should we do to help her through this? The uncertainty seems to be hardest on her and to be honest, us.

    Answer

What a lucky girl to have parents that are so supportive. The most important way to help her is to make sure she knows that you love her, for who she is, and always will. Good luck! Here are a couple of sites to help all of you: Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG): http://www.pflag.org/ Bisexual Resource Center: http://www.biresource.org/ American Friends Service Committee: http://www.afsc.org/about/hist/lgbt.htm
