Question
Hi I am 20 yrs old and I have a question. I haven't gotten my period yet. Is it ok that I have mad sex all of the time, without condoms? I can't get pregnant right? I have not seen a doctor b/c I was told that you have to see a doctor once you get a period. So I am in the clear right? Should I also be concerned about STDs b/c I haven't gotten my period?
Answer
Not having a period and being 20 years old is not normal and you should see a doctor. In addition, you should have an annual gyn exam once you become sexually active, so you are behind on that score. Finally, you may not be able to get pregnant, but having sexual intercourse without condoms leaves you open to getting any and all sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. Please see a doctor immediately to have your lack of a period assessed and to be checked for sexually transmitted infections!
