    Question

My recent belly button piercing is seeping pus. I've been told that removing the piercing would be a bad idea, as the fluids need an escape route, but the several treatments that have been recommended to me are contradictory to each other. What should I do, and how often?

    Answer

It sounds like you have an infection from the piercing. SEE A PHYSICIAN. Sometimes the discharge from a piercing can be very superficial and sometimes, as with any wound, it can develop into a very serious infection. Especially if you develop a fever or increasing pain you need to be seen quickly. It is rare but piercing can occasionally result in hospitalization for intravenous antibiotics. Go see your doctor.
