    Question

I and my bf tried to have sex a few days back, but when he tried to insert his penis in, it really hurt like hell. And before I knew it, I told him to stop. My question is because of that I started to bleed, but only for a while. Why does it hurts so much? How can he insert it in?! It really troubles him though. Really appreciate it if you could answer my question. Thank you and God bless.

    Answer

This may be due to lack of lubrication causing pain with insertion of the penis. If this is your first time having intercourse, this may be due to having an intact hymen which tears with penetration of penis (and will heal on its own quickly). If this is a new problem (you have had intercourse before without difficulties), you may not be adequately aroused which makes the vagina less lubricated. You can try lubrication agents such as KY jelly and Astroglide to help with this. Always use a condom, which will also help decrease friction. If no improvement, you may want to see your physician for an exam to make sure there are no other reasons for this issue.
