    Question

I?m 13 and I've been with a boy for 2 months and I want to have sex with him but I?m scared plus I like one of my best friends and I really don?t want to hurt him and also I'm having some difficulties with school and at home. So what should I do?

    Answer

I am glad you are reaching out for some help and perspective. First, please listen to heart - your second thoughts are a clue that you really are not ready to become sexual with this boy. You are not sure if you like someone else and the closer you get, the more he will get hurt. Second, you need to focus on fixing the issues at home and school, not relationships. Talk to a counselor at school, or your doctor, or someone from church - get support. Finally, please do not even consider sex for several more years. Your body is not done developing and the younger you start having sex, the greater the chances are that you will get pregnant and sexually transmitted infections.
