    Question

I have not had any sex but my vagina has been itching for about two days. I rubbed it with my underwear on but today it starting burning and itching really bad. I rubbed it as usual but after some time my vagina lips swelled up. They are now huge and very painful. I took a shower and cleaned my vagina with some mild soap and warm water in hopes that the swelling will go away, but it hasn't. So I now applied some diaper rash ointment but it hurts to walk and sit down. What could this be?

    Answer

Sounds like a yeast infection - you can try eating yogurt or treating wit with Monistat, which you can by over-the-counter without a prescription. Read the package instructions. Yeast infections are caused by an over growth of a natural yeast - no big deal. If that does not work - see your doctor. Good luck.
