Question
Recently my vagina has been very itchy and there is something like a white film that covers it, especially in the creases. When I try to wipe off the thin film, it rolls up and feels kind of like wet toilet paper. I also have a discharge that sticks to the sides of my vagina and dries so it feels like sandpaper, and when I walk, it rubs rashes on the sides of my vagina. This is very problematic seeing as how I'm a waitress and don't have time to wipe up the discharge before it dries all the time. What do you think is wrong with me?
Answer
Don't worry about the white film. It sounds like normal discharge from your vagina which we all have. If the discharge that sticks to your vagina is also white, I wouldn't worry about it either. However, if your itchiness is still there, I would suggest you see your doctor. Sometimes what helps to prevent the rubbing or chafing on the sides of your vagina or thighs is actually to make sure you stay in good overall health. By that I mean exercising regularly and watching what you eat to make sure you are not taking in too much junk food or soda pop.
