Question
I'm 16 years old and never had sex in my life, never masturbated and so on. I got my period when I was about 12, but probably for almost three years, up till now, I get really itchy down there, and the itch comes and goes. I also have discharge that doesn't smell BAD but smells kind of weird. And just today, I found reddish/brownish discharge in my underwear when I was peeing. And when I wiped, the reddish/brownish stuff was on the toilet paper. What the heck is wrong with me?
Answer
I suggest that you see your health care provider. You may have a vaginal yeast infection that could account for the itching. You will likely need an internal vaginal exam, using a small speculum to look in your vagina and check the fluid to look for infections. There are other kinds of infections that you can get beside yeast even if you have never been sexually active. This is easily treatable, so please get some help.
