    Question

Last week i was infected with Balanitis and consulted a doctor; he gave me pills and now where the ulcer were there new skin has developed but on the tip of my penis the redness is there. How much time will it take to cure Balanitis and what care should be taken so that Balanitis is not caused in near future?

    Answer

There are many different causes of balanitis. Some respond to oral medications, some respond to creams. Usually the balanitis should clear up within about a week. If it doesn't, you should see your doctor again to make sure that you haven't developed something else, such as a yeast overgrowth, or bacterial overgrowth, or even very rarely some form of STD or penile cancer.
