Question
I know you have had a lot of questions about bumps on the labia but I think my situation is a little bit different. I'm a virgin and I have a small bump on my left inside lip of my vagina. I noticed that it comes a little bit before I am due for my period and it just becomes inflammed and hurts to touch it. It doesn't open up or anything and it goes away after my period. My friend said she had this a couple times before and she squeezed hers and it went away. I don't want to squeeze it and make it worse though. Can you possibly clue me in on what it could be and how to make it go away/not come back and do you feel I should see a doctor right away about this or see if it keeps coming back?
Answer
This sounds like a plugged up gland. It might go away if you squeeze it, BUT that sounds terrifically painful and there is NO reason in the world to do that. Why don't you try putting a warm-hot washrag on it several times a day when it comes up and see it that makes it goes away quicker.
