    Question

At what age does a female teen stop growing?

    Answer

The growth spurt and progression through puberty is highly variable from teen to teen. In most females breast budding is the first physical sign of puberty. The average age of onset of breast development for African-American girls is age 9 and age 10 for Caucasian girls. The next change is the onset of pubic hair development for which the average ages are age 9 and 10 1/2 years, for African-American and Caucasian girls, respectively. For the average female, the growth spurt starts around the time of breast development. This is typically followed by a period of very rapid growth. Most females have their first period about 2 years after breast development begins. Most female teens grow very little after they have their period. Sorry that there isn't a clear cut answer. Hope this helps.
