    Question

A few weeks ago I had burning and itching in my vagina region. I thought it was a yeast infection, so I used over the counter products to help get rid of it. After a week, all my symptoms were gone and I felt fine. I just had sex and although it didn't hurt or burn like it used to, afterwards i was extremely swollen. This has never been an issue before and I've been having sex with the same person for over a year. What do you think it could be?

    Answer

Sometimes you can have swelling in your vaginal area after intercourse due to friction or rubbing in the area. It might have happened this time since your skin might have still been a little irritated from a vaginal yeast infection. Hopefully, the swelling and other symptoms have improved. If not, I would see your medical provider and get this checked out.
