Question
how soon are STD signs exhibited? I received oral sex from a female on Saturday night, and have seemed to be running a low fever / chills ever since monday (2 days)...no other contact was made even kissing....coincidence with a potential cold?

STD symptoms can certainly be seen as early as 2-3 days after contact. What you describe, fever apparently without any genital symptoms, would be a bit unusual, especially if genital symptoms (burning on urinating, itching sensation at tip of penis, discharge or drainage into your underwear from the tip of the penis, pain in groin or around scrotum area) do not appear in a few days. If not, your guess that this might be a viral respiratory infection might be correct. If you do notice any genital symptoms, however, or if you continue to have fever without other respiratory symptoms (cough, runny nose sore throat, etc.), then you should see your doctor for an evaluation.
