Posted on: 05/02/2007
ok...im in love with my girlfriend, me and her are 15 years old, 10th grade almost 11th, i go over to her house alot, because her mom doesnt let her come to mine, she is Mexican, and her mom is EXTREMELY strict, well i was at her house yesterday, home alone, and i was upstairs, when i was gonna leave because my cuzen came to pick me up, she came in and saw me upstairs, and started yellin at me, but when she saw me i was not in her room, i was in da hall, Her mom told me not to go upstairs before, i met her and her family before, so she kicked me out, now her mom disconnected the phone, computer, everything, OH and plus her mom is irresponsible, she has a 1 year old son, and doesnt take care of him, she leaves my girlfriend to take care of him, and that makes her not get out the house at all, because she cant... THE WORST part is that her mom said that if she saw me again she'll call the cops on me, please tell me how am i gonna see her, im lost please help me.
Dear Teen: It would seem best for you to lay low for a while. If you take the risk of seeing her, the mother could very well call the police. This is a tough situation, but if you push getting together now it may make it harder on your girlfriend since her mother may punish her and expect even more of her. Perhaps you could ask for an introduction to her parents in a way that is comfortable for them and they may let you see more of her. Mexican culture tends to be very protective of young girls and if you want a relationship with this young lady you will have to find a way of respecting their family customs.
