    Question

I was teaching English in Japan and was the only girl in my office. Two of the boys decided it would be funny to bet on sleeping with me and were quite persistent at trying to get me in bed. They would ask me home, grope me and make comments both socially and also at work - only this was more subtle. I told my immediate boss and another co worker whenever something happened and then also the big boss when I couldnt take anymore and they were not supportive because I had been out socially in groups with them. One night one of the boys 'pounced' and it took 3 no's to get him to stop. They also made fun of me for complaining to the boss. Does harassment only include the workplace?

    Answer

NO! Because you work with these men you are protected even if out in public. Report this offense, too! I am sorry you are having this experience. If your boss does nothing, email his boss!
