    Question

The bumps on the back of my tongue-I think they're taste buds-have been there my whole life, only now they're swollen and quite annoying. When I swallow, it feels like they are blocking my throat passage.

    Answer

The swelling sensation you may be feeling could be the taste buds or the tonsil or adenoid tissue in that part of your throat. If you continue to feel like it's blocking your throat, you should see your doctor to have it checked.
