    Question

I have just recently been to my family doctor and she asked me if I was sexually active. I said no, but had just started to become sexually active. I have another follow up appointment in a month's time, and I am scared to tell her I am sexually active. Will my mother be able to ask her questions about it if I do? I am also scared on how to tell her. I don't know what to say to her. Will she make me get a pap done, now that I am sexually active?

    Answer

These are good questions for the doctor when you see her. You are 18 - time to stop worrying and be responsible for your health care. Your mom cannot ask the doctor about your care, and yes, you should get a pap test and start on a reliable method of birth control. Good luck!
