Question
i got my first period 3 months ago. before my second period, i had a HUGE amount of clear discharge. the discharge sticks together. it also has a fishy/vagina smell that often gets so bad i can smell it through my jeans at school. i have never had sex... i am very worried. also when i get my period it is extreemly heavy. i go through 6-7 maxi-pads a day. is it normal?
Answer
You will probably notice that your vaginal discharge changes in quality and consistency throughout your menstrual cycle. I recommend that you speak with your doctor in more detail about your concerns, especially if you are having any discomfort. Also, with regards to the flow of your period, it will be important to get a better sense of family history (ex: any history of heavy periods or bleeding issues in your family). These issues are best addressed face to face. It will put your mind at ease if you can talk to someone in person about this.
