    Question

hi, i am 17 yrs old, and have recently started to have a really itchy left side of the scrotum and an itchy left upper inner thigh (the part sort of under the scrotum)... some red bumps are also visible. It gets itchier in the morning, after a shower and at night. It gets quite raw after i itch and also stars to hurt a little. The scrotum gets quite wrinkled too. im currently just cleaning with Savlon (equivalent to dettol) and then using neosporin powder. have been using that for about 2 days now. After treating with that, the irritation does reduce, but does not seem to get cured. Havent had sex in 6-7 months, though masturbation is almost daily. I NEED HELP!!

    Answer

The description of your rash sounds like a fungal infection, itching red and moist. Go see a doctor for treatment. Do try to wash the area with cool water (hot increases blood flow to an area and any itching) and plain soap, dry carefully (I usually advise men and woman to use a hair drier on low to completely dry the area) and consider an antifungal cream. The best choice is to see a doctor for diagnosis and treatment. Good luck.
