    Question

I have read about vaginal discharge (the white, thick kind), and learned that it was common around the menstrual cycle. I am still going through puberty and have not yet had a cycle, but have had the white discharge. Is this a bad thing?

    Answer

Many girls have intermittent vaginal discharge starting a few months before their first period. This is usually normal. If you are having pain, itching or if the discharge has a foul odor then you should see your doctor. For more information about vaginal discharge, please see: Vaginal Discharge/Infections
