Question
If you are on depo and take a pregnancy test would it be positive if you were pregnant? I have been on the depo shot for 4-5 years. My weight has done nothing but go up and down and lately just goes up, should I look into getting on another kind of birth control?
Answer
Yes you will have a positive pregnancy test if you get pregnant on Depo.
Depo does make some women hungry and that will certainly lead to weight gain. Talk it over with your doctor because a lot of women also will gain weight from 18 to 23, as their bodies continue to mature.
